The Governing Council has given its approval to the delimitation of the protective environment of the Wheel and the Aqueduct of Nora in Murcia.
The space includes the plot where lies the whole and the surrounding environment.
This measure ensures the protection of both visual constructions.
The Wheel of Huerta in Nora, has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1982 and, together with the Wheel of Sewell, a symbol of the Huerta de Murcia.
The current water wheel was built in 1936 and replaced an older wooden dating from 1399.
The current wheel has a diameter of ten meters.
The aqueduct that accompanies the wheel has a length of 220 meters.
Its origins date back to the fifteenth century.
There are two parts, the first, closest to the wheel, which is the oldest, and a second form of the growth in the orchard.
