The Plenary approved a joint motion

Murcia City Council joins the celebration of European Year of Active enevejecimiento and intergenerational solidarity with the approval of a joint motion by the House.

Through the Department of Health and Social Welfare is imulsará the following lines:

-Accession Insitucional Murcia City Council as a partner to the European Year, through the website of IMSERSO, incorporating different experiences of best practices in active aging and intergenerational solidarity, being developed as part of the services provided from the Department of Social Welfare and Health.

-Maintain and enhance the range of services and municipal action aimed at everyone over the municipality, in order to ensure proper care and stay in their usual environment of coexistence and the promotion of social participation and health prevention .

-To encourage and promote opportunities for coordination and inter-municipal level for the submission of joint proposals and develop a program of specific activities, collecting the various contributions, to mark the European Year of Active Ageing and Intergenerational Solidarity.

-Incorporation of content related to the theme of the Year in programs and projects carried out in different sectors of the population, promoting discussion sessions, analysis and support activities and intergenerational encounter.

-Ensure participation and involvement of seniors through the network of Centres for the Elderly of our municipality, by creating a specific working group to discuss, make suggestions and develop specific actions in coordination with other sectors of the population.

-Encourage the older feel heard, represented and protagonists of the events to be scheduled.

-Ensuring the principle of equal opportunities between women and men in the process of participation, proposal and development activities.

-Information and dissemination to the general population of the municipal activities that are developed to promote active aging and intergenerational solidarity, enabling a higher level of awareness and knowledge.

-To coincide with International Day of Solidarity and Cooperation between Generations, a conference to promote awareness and debate on active aging and intergenerational solidarity in collaboration with other municipal services, Regional Government, University of Murcia and social agents.

Commemoration of the Year, with a main event coinciding with the International Day of Older Persons.
