The Governing Council has adopted the definition of environment protection of the Church and Monastery of San Pedro, known as 'The Jerónimos' of Murcia.
The delimitation of the environment has been carried out according to the monastic ideal location on a hill overlooking the Vega del Segura.
This measure ensures the visual protection of the building, which is declared as a Cultural category of monument since 2007.
The Jeronimos Monastery was built in the eighteenth century by the Murcian hamlet of La Nora.
The interior has a rich decoration of figures in relief of the Fathers of the Church, large windows and a ring with images of children.
The church is used for holding many academic events, in relation to the current use of the whole, as well as religious and cultural.
