IU-Green has filed a motion to the next full council of Murcia by urging the corporation to refrain from participating in acts of religious, pursuant Establishment Clause of the constitutional principle of public institutions.
The spokesman for the training at the Guildhall, Esther Herguedas, has indicated that the separation of church and state is a characteristic "fundamental" democratic systems and, therefore, "must be respected by all the representative institutions."
In his view, the participation of members of the corporation in religious activities on behalf of the council is "a flagrant violation of the Spanish Constitution and the principles of law."
It has therefore requested that elected officials from their religious freedom to choose to participate in religious activities, they do individually and with no outward signs of public representation and protocol.
