The Youth Musical Group Cabezo de Torres (AMJCT) offered yesterday a concert in Nebrija Scenic Area, where the second part was directed by the Belgian composer and conductor, Jan van der Roost, one of the most important on the international scene.
The event served to inaugurate the new theater school in the hamlet Antonio Nebrija Murcian Cabezo de Torres, who hung the sign "no tickets".
The program consisted of Verses Murcia, Manuel Massotti Littel, Rites Op 79, Jean Absil, and The Legend of Maracaibo, the composer Murcia Jose Alberto Pina, who was responsible for directing the piece.
In the second part, the AMJCT performed two Belgian composer's works, 'From Ancient Times', unprecedented in Spain, and' Rikudim ', who dared to run as bis' Amparito Roca "by Jaime Texidor Dalmau, one of the pasodobles known in Spain.
Van der Roost is a professor at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven (Belgium) plus special guest lecturer at the Institute of Music Sobi in Tokyo, visiting professor at Nagoya University of Art and visiting professor at Senzoku Gakuen in Kawasaki (Japan .)
Besides being a prolific songwriter, is one of the most requested as a judge, lecturer and guest conductor, which has led to more than 40 countries on 4 continents.
His compositions have been broadcast on radio and television in many countries and most have been recorded on CD by renowned artists from around the world.
The AMJCT, currently composed of about 100 musicians and directed by Andrés Pérez Barnabas, born in 1982 and has since participated in numerous festivals and concerts in the Region of Murcia, Valencia, Galicia, Castilla la Mancha and Andalusia , which have won praise from music critics.
In recent years he has won numerous awards including first prize in the first section of the XVIII National Competition of Bands of Murcia (2008), the second prize in the first section in the National Competition LX Bands' City Cullera ', Valencia (2008), the first prize at the III International Competition of Bands of Torrevieja, Alicante (2009), and second prize in the International Wind Band Villa in Altea, Alicante (2011).
The next April 15 will participate in the International Music Band 'Vila de La Senia', in Tarragona.
