The school Our Lady of La Paz today celebrated Arbor Day by planting mulberry trees by eight students from the center, with the participation of Councillors Cachá Adela Martinez-Sanchez and Maria Dolores.
The initiative was carried out by the Municipal Board This, together with the Councillors for Environment and Education and the school.
Tree planting aims to raise awareness and engage children and youth in the fight against climate change, expanding and improving the action of the vegetation in the municipality, as sinks of greenhouse gases.
This initiative aims to raise awareness on the value of natural resources, develop an active behavior in children and youth of the municipality with respect to the environment and create shadow zone at school, because trees are an important part of our nature, playing a key role in the sustainability of cities.
The aim is that tree planting takes place in all schools in Vistabella, La Paz and La Fame, as explained by the president of the Municipal Board, Rafael Gomez.
Likewise, the Municipal Board has donated books to the school library.
