Youth provide training and language learning through community initiatives
The City of Murcia has expanded its participation in European Commission programs for young Murcia can do internships, learn languages ​​and to volunteer in Europe, aiming to improve their skills and providing access to a job.
So far the Department of Youth, directed by Miguel Cascales, carried out by the European Voluntary Service, sending young Murcia to Europe and getting young volunteers working with the City.
Now Youth will also facilitate the participation of youth in other European Commission initiatives such as Leonardo - allowing labor practices in European companies while allowing a language-learning, Erasmus and other Grundvigt Assistantships and practical education centers and -training, in order to facilitate work experience and improve their training.
These projects are funded by the European Commission.
The City of Murcia offers European Voluntary program since 1998.
In these years they have sent 230 young Murcia and have received 48 European volunteers.
Last year 30 volunteers were sent to different European countries.
These young people have returned with a new language, with practical knowledge about working in other countries and personal development that will facilitate labor mobility and training they need.
Councillor for Sports, Miguel Cascales, has indicated that relies on increasing delivery of young volunteers from Murcia to EU projects and expected to grow the number of young Europeans to make their practices in municipal offices.
The European Commission has launched Youth in Motion, a new flagship initiative aimed at helping young people acquire knowledge, skills and experience they need for their first job a reality.
Youth in Motion is part of Europe 2020, the new EU strategy and proposes key actions twenty-eight aimed at making education and training best fit the needs of young people and encourage a greater number of them take advantage EU grants to study or train in another country.
