Cold air is a classic of Cuban drama.
Written in the late fifties, before the fall of Batista, opened in Havana in 1962.
This version, fifty years after writing the text, does not aspire to play each of its parts.
The play tells the story of Piñeira family Romaguera between 1940 and 1958.
In memory, Luz Marina evokes fragments, conversations, characters who are drawing a recreation of the life of this family in a space-time mythical, enchanted by the evocation, which is what playing for the Cuban history and theater, the image of the Epilogue.
There is, moreover, works or phrases allusions to Virgil, especially the Prologue of his Theatre Complete, published in 1960.
And it offers, especially the interest of the study of gestures and inner impulses, secret or revealed, the characters.
In this case, the language once again functions as a mask which, in turn, covers the essential me reveals characterizations: the passage of time, the view from the actuality of these figures (icons of Cuban culture and theater) immortalized by the author in a gesture, a look, a voice comes from afar to our lives today ...
