International Poetry Festival, exhibition of painting, cinema, conference on Women and Employment and coexistence on Environment and Gender Equality are some of the activities

The Department of Equality Policies of the City of Murcia has organized an extensive program of activities to commemorate International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8.

The celebration of the International Poetry Festival, the exhibition of paintings by the Centers for Women, cinema, conference on Women and Employment and the organization of a living on Environment and Gender Equality are some of the proposed activities.

Provides for the participation of more than two thousand people in all activities to be organized.

The Councillor for Equality Policies, Alicia Barquero, explained that this is a day that is celebrated worldwide to commemorate the struggle of women for full equality in society.

The activities begin on March 5 and end on March 29.

This new year comes loaded with the goal of women to participate and show their work in various areas of social and cultural life.

Thus, among the leading proposals is:

-International Poetry Festival 'Cries of Women'.

Be held on March 6, at 18 am in the Hall of the City Hall Annex building.

Prizes will be awarded the First Short Story Contest March 8, and intervene the following poets: Ginés Aniorte, Irel Faustina Bermejo, Angela Diaz Rivera, Julia Fernandez Conejero, Isabel Campoy Grima, Francisco Javier Illan, Isabel Ascension Miralles, Cristian Minguez Julio Navarro, Pedro Vera, Annabel And Julio Villar Pavanetti.

In addition, performing on tenor Juan Gallego, soprano Adela Garcia, painter Pilar Martinez, Mama Quilla and guitarist Guillermo Castro.

-Exhibition of Painting.

This is an exhibition of the work carried out by members of the Centers for Women.

Opens on March 5, at 18 pm in the Exhibition Hall of the Municipal Center of El Carmen.

Will be open until March 15.

-Meeting of women in the Way On 7 March, from 10.30.

In collaboration with the city of Molina de Segura Alguazas and this activity is done to promote the Northwest Greenway.

There will be a guided tour of the track, discovery commemorative plaque and tree planting.

-Institutional Act of the International Day of Women.

Class practice of Tai Chi and self-protection for women in the Sports Pavilion Cagigal, from 17.30 to 19.30 hours on 22 March.

This activity is conducted in collaboration with the Department of Sports.

-Coexistence of Women's Associations on Environment and Gender Equality.

Be held on March 29, from 11 to 17 hours in the Valley of the Birds.

During the day there will be workshops on environmental sustainability and gender.
