The floor of the Faculty of Arts will host the next 27 and 28 February, the interdisciplinary seminar "Evolution of the Arab world today: between politics, journalism and language", which aims to deepen the current world situation Arabic after the revolutions of 2011.
The seminar, run by the rapporteur Javier Martin, is organized by Arabele and the Hall of Debate at the University of Murcia, and sponsored by Cajamurcia.
The seminar program consists of three conferences.
The first, entitled "Challenges of contemporary journalism: A backpack and dust in old shoes to know the Arab world" will take place on Monday 27 at 10.30 hours in the classroom 0.1 of the Faculty of Communication and Information in Espinardo campus.
"The Arab Spring in the light of diplomacy and economic interests. The 'Great Game' of the Middle East" is the name of the second, to be hosted by the Chamber of the Faculty of Arts, Campus de la Merced, at 19 pm that Monday.
In the same place, at 12 am on Tuesday, 28, will host the conference "Language and contemporary Arab world: Career for a world in crisis."
Javier Martin (Salamanca, 1972) has a degree in Arabic philology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Bachelor of Hebrew philology from the University of Salamanca, and journalist.
He has spent over ten years in the Middle East headquarters, from which has covered the wars in Iraq and Lebanon.
He has specialized in Shi'ism, which has led him to write "Hezbollah, the armed wing of God" and "Sunnis, the two arms of Allah", published in The Cataract and chosen as the best of the year on the region by the magazine Foreign Policy in 2006 and 2008 respectively.
