The University of Murcia, in the austerity plan launched in 2009, has reduced printing costs by 53 percent.
To achieve these savings, the university launched a software tool, known as "Dali" which takes full control of printing, so as to get detailed information have a print volume of each official, safeguarding the confidentiality of information.
Furthermore, it has carried out an adjustment of the number of printers, eliminating high maintenance cost and system employing other in cost per copy.
With all these operations has obtained a cost-effective reduction in printing costs 53 percent at the start of the current course.
In the network of computer classrooms of students, the application of these austerity measures have led to lower than 4.7 million copies in print in 2009-2010 to 2.6 million copies in the past year.
