The University of Murcia has been reduced by 59% the fixed costs of maintenance in data communications and telephony by 2012, saving as part of the proceedings of the austerity plan launched by the educational institution since 2009, which has resulted, among other measures, plant closures during the holiday periods.
The competition for voice and data communications for the period 2012-2014 has been awarded 250,453 euros a year (lots of fixed and mobile interconnection MoviStar and campus lot ONO), for the 421,157 euros that was awarded in 2011.
At this time, the University of Murcia has achieved a significant reduction in the number of calls to both fixed as mobile, despite the increase in the number of extensions and users, which has been possible thanks to the policy of control and awareness of telephone expenses and the full migration of traditional telephony to IP telephony (reduction of 120,000 euros per year).
