The IU-Green councilor in the municipality of Murcia Jose Ignacio Tornel today denounced the "lack of interest" in his view, shows the PP in regard to the promotion of citizen participation in municipal boards.
Tornel has indicated that a sample of this attitude is that at the last plenary of the Municipal Council of Santa Maria de Gracia, San Antonio, president of the Partido Popular, locked the door where it took place.
"This is to eliminate the public nature of the plenary sessions," he added, emphasizing that the municipal boards "are not exercising as organs of decentralization, but congestion of municipal tasks."
The mayor has advanced his training is working on a proposal to create a specific regulation of the functioning of the Plenary session, so as to respect the purpose of the Boards.
"There are already several boards in which we are detecting from lack of education attempts to keep defending our motions or not letting us participate in the round of written submissions," she added.
He highlighted the work being done by IU-Greens in neighborhoods and districts to expand the working and fighting for the needs of residents.
"This organization is more open than ever," he underlined.
