The meeting served to recognize the professionals
The president of the Real Wins Mercamurcia and manager of this company, Martin Pena, emphasized the good results obtained in 2011 by the export sector of the three livestock species, pigs, cattle and sheep.
According to Martin Peña, this year the sector has been hit again, as in 2008, high prices for cereals but, from the month of August and May corn, barley, began a sharp descent to be placed in the last three months of the year to a "reasonable" levels.
Throughout the year 2011 cattle prices have had a generally positive development for livestock species, with average increases of 6.2% in cattle, 7.5% in pigs and 20% in sheep.
These increases have been more significant during the fourth quarter, which, in general, farms have been placed in levels of profitability.
Spanish livestock is contributing significantly to national economic recovery, and it seems that this good situation can be maintained for several months, according to manager Mercamurcia.
