The councilman of Culture has delivered this morning the poster competition prizes to schools
Murcia live their carnivals every year with greater intensity and for this reason the city of Murcia wishes to express its support for cultural activities.
Present collectively these festivals served to continue to encourage thousands of people who maintain this tradition.
The Department of Culture, directed by Rafael Gomez, continues to drive these cultural manifestations that represent the wisdom and are expressions of the concerns of our neighbors.
The Carnival of Murcia and beyond our geographic scope, such as Cabezo de Torres, recognized throughout the region and has a century-old tradition, since its origins date back to late nineteenth century.
And that dot our districts such as Beniaján (From 15 to 22 February, cry, several parades throughout the week, festival parades jokes and concentration) Bacons Bridge (A total of 25 extras, with 1200 participants) Algezares (chirigotas Contest Feb. 25); Corner Beniscornia (Carnaval de Peñas and the children held the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday), St. Pius X and St. James the Greater-than-Avileses held in conjunction (on 26 February), La Alberca, La Nora (the last day of Carnival parades to all school students), The Albatalía, Aljucer (18 February, with four coaches, 12 cars and associated mobile extras), Llano, Bruges (Piñata Sunday Parade) Quarter Progress (Day 18 to 18 hours, with all the neighborhood groups, totaling 16 groups and 600 participants and the Esparragal.
Los Barrios de Murcia also take to the street parades and brass bands and celebrate the holiday with great detail.
The most significant are those of the Barrio del Carmen.
The Carmelite business association with the Municipal District Board held a carnival costume contest in the individual modalities, groups, associations and schools.
On Friday, February 17 marks the great parade, which is output from the Artillery Barracks.
Day 24 is Awards.
Also, since 1997 has organized a parade of the seven schools in the neighborhood, about 3,000 students-which is attached a poster competition carnival.

The councilman of Culture, Rafael Gomez, this morning attended the awards ceremony of the seven selected posters.
Especially striking is the Carnival of Vistabella, La Paz and La Fama, who has his big day on Saturday 18 with parade through the district.
Social groups, schools, associations, are involved in this event that is becoming one of the most symbolic of our town.
This year is the ninth edition of this event, comprising a total of 15 District and other troupes from various parts of town.
The parade route is as follows: Antonete Galvez Avenue of Fame, Luis Fontes Pagán, José Perez Miralles, Pastor Pedro Martinez Conesa ending at the Avenue of Fame.
