IU-Greens today denounced the "absence of initiatives" by the East Central Board of Murcia in the festival program in the district of Santa Eulalia in honor of La Candelaria and San Blas, and that "has left center stage to the religious acts "at the expense of civic activities.
According to Jose Ignacio Tornel, IU-Green councilor in Murcia, the Municipal Board has demonstrated its "inability" to organize events "themselves and attractive," which, in his view, has led to a "limited" number of people and caused unease among traders.
Tornel noted that the program was made up 16 religious activities, among which highlighted the holding of two conferences entitled "The courtship and marriage preparation" and "In Defense of the family", compared to six civic events, including the opening speech and a tribute to the elderly.
"The right of access and participation in the festivities has been curtailed by this dereliction of duties by the heads of the Board," she added.
Tornel has called for the Board to delegate functions relating to the organization of festivals to neighborhood associations, or supplies to neighbors to participate in it, "since his disability has been certified year after year."
