The City continues to support the work of IES Alfonso X the Wise, which implements the International Baccalaureate.
The Councillor for Education, Maria Dolores Sanchez, has signed a collaboration agreement with the center's director, Rafael Hernández Marín.
The IES began the process of implementation of this educational system in the 2005/2006 academic year, making it official in September 2006.
The International Baccalaureate Organization is an educational foundation nonprofit that encourages students to take an active approach to learning, to be balanced people in the world and act responsibly in accordance with the principles of international citizenship.
The Institute Alfonso X 'El Sabio' offers the Diploma program, a curriculum of two years, aimed at male / female students aged 16 to 19.
It reconciles the two courses of high school Spanish, so that the student receives double degree.
In these studies limits the number of subjects they can choose the alumni / ae, including matters of the school chosen by the students, conforms to the potential supply of teaching materials and the center and aims to ensure that the student takes the courses needed to obtain a double degree.
