Older women with medium-high and secondary and college is the typical profile of people involved in caring for terminally ill relatives, according to one of the conclusions of the doctoral dissertation at the University of Murcia by Alcántara Rojas Purification .
This research also indicates that usually coincides with people who are very attached to these patients and even leave their work to give them the attention they need in the final stage of his life.
The work done for the preparation of the thesis have allowed the author to discover that they are satisfied with the information received from the palliative care team and that their care of these patients will cause changes in sleep and family life.
The new Doctor advised to "establish measures of surveillance and support to caregivers to detect problems as early as possible."
For the realization of the doctoral thesis, which has been rated cum laude, Purification Rojas analyzed a sample of 125 caregivers from different municipalities of the Region.
The work was led by Maria Dolores Perez Prisons and Moon Aurelio Maldonado.
