The Department of Health and Social Welfare, which runs María del Carmen Pelegrin, continues to work with young people from Los Rosales (El Palmar), Beniaján, Stables and branches to prevent situations of marginalization and accompany the process of social inclusion in their environment.
In this project, coordinated by the Center for Social Services 'Murcia Sur', involving 60 young people, aged between 12 and 18.
The activities are designed to develop educational and family counseling.
Many of these young people have various problems in the educational, relational, lacking self-esteem, social skills, truancy and lack family support.
Among the main objectives is to prevent situations of risk among adolescents, young people develop social skills that facilitate their normal development in society, young people enter into further training and job placement, provide information on topics of interest youth, sexuality, employment, drug prevention, etc., informing and supporting existing resources to meet young people, foster students' motivation to return to the classroom and encourage young people to relations with its neighbors, neighborhood and their city.
This project has three groups, Los Rosales-Palmar-The Stables Beniaján and Ramos.
The group of Los Rosales was launched in 2000 and involved adolescents 12 to 18.
The Beniaján began in 2001, in coordination with the IES Beniaján.
In 2004, the initiative added to leisure and free time and in 2005 launched a global project for young people between 13 and 16 years.
Alquerías group-The Palm is working since 2009.
The project involves teenagers between 12 and 16 years and is done in coordination with IES in the area.
Workshops are held in all social skills, crafts, cooking, film club and sports, among many other things.
