The University of Murcia hosts until next Thursday the preparatory meeting of Erasmus Mundus mobility program, Mare Nostrum, involving 19 universities in Europe and North Africa.
The program, coordinated by the University of Murcia and Cartagena Polytechnic Campus Mare Nostrum, allows the mobility of students (undergraduate, master's and doctoral), faculty and administrative staff and services from institutions of Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia to universities Europe and vice versa.
During the conference, representatives of the partner universities will establish actions to be carried out during the years of the project will be completed in October 2015.
On the European side, the Universities of Minho (Portugal), Technical Riga (Latvia), Vilnius (Lithuania), Technology, Lublin (Poland), Messina (Italy), Institute of Political Studies at the University of Lyon II (France ) and International Institute for Trade and Development (France), together with the universities of Murcia.
African universities are partners Moroccan Moulay Ismail, Mohammed Premier, Mohammed V Souissi and Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah, the Ibn Badis Algerian Abdelhamid Mostaganem Mammeri Mouloud of Tizi-Ouzou and Science and Technology of Oran, and the Tunisian Gabes, Manouba and Tunisia.
The project has funding of € 3.2 million and the deadline for filing its first call runs from March to May this year.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Murcia and Gaspar Ros rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Felix Faure, explained at a press conference today the details of the call and the multiple areas of knowledge covered.
The presentation ceremony was also attended by Director General of Universities and Science Policy in the Region of Murcia, Eduardo Osuna, among others.
