The Socialist councilor Andrea Garries today highlighted that public pressure has prevented the installation of a mobile phone antenna close to the city center and near the school and the doctor in Los Ramos.
The mayor said that thanks to the efforts of neighbors grouped into a platform from which they have raised over a thousand signatures, the Neighborhood Council on Thursday adopted a unanimous agreement at an extraordinary plenary session requested by the PSOE in rejecting the installation of such infrastructure.
Councilwoman Garries, who was present in Parliament, pointed out that the location of the antenna under the Trail of Palms, near the center of population had raised strong opposition in the parish.
"We understand that antennas should be placed in safe and accepted by all the neighbors."
Finally, the PSOE mayor deplores the attitude of the headman who has withheld information from the antenna to the residents of Los Ramos until many came to him the City Council have received letters notifying them of the intention of a telephone company to place with their houses a mobile phone antenna.
