Barquero Alicia has met with PSOE, IU and to study the regulation UPyD
Councilmember Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, held a meeting this morning with representatives of PSOE, IU and UPyD in the city of Murcia to debate the rules of the Municipal Council for Equality, as agreed in the House of November.
This is a sector and consultative involving women's associations, the Federation of Women's and political groups represented in the city of Murcia.
Alicia Barquero explained that the goal is for the Council as part of the Municipal Plan for Equality, is incorporated in March, on the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day on 8 March.
This Council shall serve at the municipal level to uphold the principles of equality and gender discrimination.
Among its functions is to provide women with the municipality the opportunity to participate in the development of policies for Equal Opportunities between men and women, through their associations, organizations and municipal entities in which they are integrated; ensure compliance with the Municipal Plan for Equality, ensure participation of women and mainstreaming gender in all organs of municipal participation and awareness campaigns to propose, among other things.
The Council consists of a president, vice president, secretary, political groups, the Federation of Associations of Women and a maximum of ten members of women's associations in the municipality.
