The Department of Environment will begin next week to install 800 new bicycle parking from 124 parking spots.
These points will consist of 400 galvanized steel bars in the form of inverted "U".
In each of the bars can park two bicycles.
This action is part of the Bicycle Master Plan of Murcia, which includes the installation of a total of 615 parking spots and 7,150 parking spaces for bicycles.
Of the 124 locations where aparcabicicletas be installed, 71 correspond to the city center and 53 to the districts.
The 800 new bicycle parking spaces are added to the existing 1936 places in the municipality, so that places the Consistory 2736 would be closer to meeting the objectives of the Plan (the 7150 places mentioned above).

The bicycle parking facilities are located primarily in centers where there is high mobility such as:
* Cultural centers, senior centers, women's centers, and doctors (mainly in districts)
* Other municipal buildings: Registrar General, Municipal Tax Agency, Moneo building, Environment, Statistics ...
* Hospitals (Arrixaca, Reina Sofia, Morales Meseguer and La Vega) and emergency services ambulance 112 and 061.
* Places of Supplies (Verona, Vistabella, and San Andrés and completing all municipal markets)
* Train and buses.
* Training Centers (Conservatory of Dance and Dramatic Arts, School of Fine Arts, Universidad de la Merced, Capuchins, Marists, Carmelites and the Rio Infante, CEIP Avileses, García Alix, Astrapace ...)
* Squares and main streets (Gran Vía, Alfonso X the Wise, Ronda de Garay, Plaza de Toros)
* Hotels: Silken 7 Coronas, Arco de San Juan, Zenith, NH Amistad, Rincon de Pepe, Count of Florida Blanca, churros, Hesperia ...
* Areas close to official sites: AEAT, ARGEM, CROEM, Emuasa, Lieutenant Courts Flomesta, Convalescence, Cajamurcia, Telefónica, ONO, Murcia Football Federation ...
The Office of the Municipal Murcia Bike strongly recommends the use of secure bicycle locks.
In this sense, the most secure locks are called fork-shaped or "U".
Should not be used steel cable locks or "spiral", as well as chain link, as they are the most insecure.
A good lock, provided that the tie the frame of the bicycle (and possibly the wheels) to bicycle parking, is the guarantee that the bike is not stolen.
