Professor at the University of Murcia Balibrea Luis-Manuel Thomas, in his capacity as president of the Federation of Associations of Industrial Engineers of Spain, has intervened in a virtual meeting organized by the newspaper "The Economist", which has been opportunity to answer many questions related to the degree in Engineering Construction.
Professor Thomas said that since that February 2010 saw the first Supreme Court ruling industrial engineers have been calling for a new denomination of this title, through letters sent to the Ministry.
When asked if this new level could worsen the prospects for architects in Spain, replied that "I think the important thing is to train people with the right profile for the profession to be exercised, also attempts to adapt at all times as possible the number of graduates to the needs of the demand. "
Luis-Manuel Thomas has said elsewhere that, contrary to what is held in some circles, the term "Building Engineer" is not common in Europe.
