The Faculty of Biology, University of Murcia on January 26 hosting the sixth edition of the Regional Olympiad, which is aimed at those students of high school 2nd with a special interest in this matter.
The top three teams, selected through a written test of 90 multiple choice questions, will represent the region in the Spanish Olympiad, held also in Murcia (from 22 to 25 March).
The awards consist of the "Special Prize of the Academy of Sciences of the Region of Murcia", 300 euros for the best rating, and a second and third prize of 200 euros each.
These students, along with three other finalists, also made some additional training offered by the Faculty of Biology.
The awards ceremony will take place on February 24 during the closing ceremony of the Week of Biology of the Faculty.
With the Olympics, organized by the Faculty, the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment and the Association of Biologists, is intended to stimulate the interest of high school students in Biology, while showing that it is an interesting science and valuable in today's society.
