The University of Murcia has been launched today in the House of Literature Symposium that brings together until Wednesday 18 academics, theater actors and expert translators to tackle William Shakespeare's appropriation of his work have made various totalitarian regimes.
The meeting, organized by the Department of English, studied as controls aspects of the regimes in the dissemination and publication of the English playwright's work, the techniques in the staging of Shakespearean productions or use of literary production for the identity construction of the tyrant in power.
The rector of Studies, Concepción Palacios, presided the opening ceremony, during which also the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, José María Jiménez Cano, the director of that department, José Antonio de Momper, and the coordinator of the symposium, Professor Graham Keith Gregor.
