The IU-Green spokesman in the municipality of Murcia, Esther Herguedas, said today that the rise of Property Tax (IBI) applied by the central government "will bring more poverty" citizens of the municipality.
Herguedas considered "surprising" that the municipality has already sought funds destined for the revenue obtained from increased IBI "without thinking that this measure will lead to many families see their economic situation worsened."
He recalled that Murcia is one of the cities in which IBI has risen more in recent years by increasing the assessed value of homes, and many urban areas pay IBI are rustic but "because of the indiscriminate rezoning council ".
"There are other possibilities to raise more by paying the most are," he asserted Herguedas, after saying that if the council ultimately receives the income, are intended to help the disadvantaged, "and not publicity events."
In this regard, he asked that part of the proceeds are used to reclaim the property tax people who are at risk of social exclusion, as IU-Green has repeatedly called on motions submitted to the plenary.
