Seven working committees that will be operational in 2012 will ensure more effective management of the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia.
This was agreed today to the General Assembly of this organization, which is exceptionally met in the Casino of Murcia and has been assisted by the Minister of Presidency, Manuel Campos.
The new committees are:
- Financing and local government, chaired by the Mayor of Cehegin, Jose Soria
- Social Welfare, chaired by the Mayor of Alhama, Alfonso Ceron
- Agriculture, Water and Environment, chaired by the Mayor of Cieza, Antonio Tamayo
- Employment and Economic Development, chaired by the Mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez
- Education and Sports, chaired by the Mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez
- Culture and Tourism, chaired by the Mayor of Lorquí, Joaquín Hernández
- Planning, Housing and Mobility, chaired by the Mayor of Yecla, Mark Ortuño
Also, the board has approved the appointment of Mayor Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid, as a member of the executive committee, replacing the recently deceased Mayor of Yecla, Juan Miguel Benedito.
It has also been appointed to Mayor White, Rafael Laorden, and the members of Local Cooperation Council, as members of the territorial council of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.
Nearly 15,000 attendees at training courses
The General Assembly held today by the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia has also analyzed the main actions taken by this body.
In terms of training, after the first regional agreement for continuing education in the local administration in 1995, it managed 15 training plans, surpassing the 800 courses and 14,630 municipal workers in attendance.
Compared to 2010, involving nearly a thousand employees of the municipalities in the region and held 46 training sessions.
