The municipal school board held its plenary session, chaired by the Councillor for Education, Maria Dolores Sanchez.

The meeting recalled that 62,241 school, Primary and High School in the municipality, of 179 schools participate in the 2011/2012 year in the 2657 program activities proposed in the 'Know your city ".

This program presents activities of nature and environment, expression and communication, science, history and art, consumption and road safety education and road safety.

With these activities and workshops, held in and outside the classroom during school is intended that all students complete our municipality known programs in the curricula, promoting the formation of values ​​and practices of citizenship.

In addition, the Department of Education has awarded 72 grants to Federations of Associations of Parents and Associations of Mothers and Fathers with the aim of extracurricular activities for students and training for parents.

Maria Dolores Sanchez has also realized the work carried out in schools during 2011.

There have been repairs and maintenance work in 34 public schools in the municipality, with an investment of 300,000 euros.

Likewise, there have been works in five schools, amounting to 176,000 euros, funded by the City Council and the General Directorate of Educational Planning and Management of the Ministry of Education.

To these works must be added the sockets paint classrooms every school child with a budget of 33,000 euros, and painting and graffiti removal at a cost of 536,000 euros.

Finally, the House has considered national holidays, regional and local approved two non-school days coinciding with the Spring Festival.

The Council is chaired by the Councillor for Education, Maria Dolores Sanchez, and consists of representatives of teachers of public and private education, through unions, representatives of Associations of Parents of Students, representatives of heads of public schools and private, a representative of the Educational Administration and a staff representative Services Administration.
