The Centers for Women of the municipality is participating in a series of lectures on balanced nutrition, offered by Puleva, with the aim of promoting the health of women at all levels of your life.
This initiative is part of the Municipal Plan for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men.
Councilmember Equality Policy and Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, has participated in one of these talks and stressed the importance of eating right for women to know because sometimes it is they who are responsible for feeding the whole family.
In the talks, which last an hour, explains the difference between food and nutrition, food classification as macronutrients group they belong to; food and nutrition by age and sex classification of nutrients: macronutrients , micronutrients and fiber intake of each food, its function in the body and the proportion in which they must appear in the daily diet, feeding through menopause, calcium and milk and the benefits of incorporating soy and Omega 3 to our daily diet as a means of preventing cardiovascular diseases and neurodegenerative diseases.
The talks started in October and continue through 2012.
