Councilmember Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, this morning attended the exhibition of guide dogs made by the Guide Dog Foundation ONCE (FOPG) in University Square.
The aim is to disseminate their work guide dogs accompanying blind or low vision, explain the training necessary for them to develop this work and raise public awareness about the critical importance of respecting the right of access of these dogs to public places or public use.
The exhibition began with a demonstration of obedience, followed by passage through the obstacle course with the dog in a position to guide and finally invited some members of the public to pass the track with the mask.
While the show is done, professionals FOPG explanations offered to the public on the training of guide dogs, the operation of the FOPG, the free service and its financing through the games that sold ONCE.
