Councilman United Left-Greens in Murcia Jose Ignacio Tornel has today requested the council to remedy the deficiencies of the Virgin of Guadalupe public school and start the necessary arrangements with the regional government to build a new school.
Tornel explained that the increase of students in that school has led to several renovations, although the space of the school remains the same, what has caused the conversion of units commonly used as the library or the classroom teacher's lounge .
He has also denounced the proximity of fuel tanks to nursery school halls built to house the students to the increase in recent years, and the toilets in the restrooms on the ground floor, which are not adapted to children's use them.
It has also indicated that the door to the nursery school room has been reduced to little more than a meter, which is "a risk" for the 300 pupils from 3 to 5 years who attended the school, while in the service dining students have to eat in two shifts for lack of space.
He recalled that after the robbery produced in the center, parents of schoolchildren have put bars on the windows to protect both computers as electronic whiteboards, "paying out of pocket and the aforementioned funds AMPA bars."
Tornel stressed that the plan 09/12 Centres of the Ministry of Education provides for the extension of primary pavilion and dining room, a measure that "the situation may favor momentarily but at the cost of suppressing expansion space in the courtyard of center ".
