The Director General of Cultural Assets, Francisco Giménez, today presented the image of the Sacred Heart, the sculptor Juan González Moreno and belonging to the church of the Carmen de Murcia, after the rehabilitation work carried out at the Center for Community Restoration independently for the past seven months.
The work, which involves an investment of 12,000 euros, have included cleaning and removal of adhesive residue, carving missing gap coating, varnishing and distinct chromatic reintegration with natural pigments and silver reintegration into the cloud.
According to Giménez, it is "return to its original size through the painstaking work carried out by technicians of the Centre for Restoration."
Juan Gonzalez Moreno made this size in the mid-twentieth century.
Located in the chapel under her name is in the transept of the epistle side of the said parish, and is a work that is within the parameters of aesthetics and iconography of the Sacred Heart, grounded since the end the nineteenth century.
