The University of Murcia hosted a meeting that dealt with the application of plant metabolic engineering to obtain high value added products for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, nutraceutical and food.
The meeting, funded by the European Union, served participating researchers to pool their resources and define the objectives and strategies for the production of these compounds.
In recent years it has gained lot of knowledge on the biosynthetic capacity of plants and have routes leading to the formation of plant compounds with high added value.
