The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, has received students from four schools that, like every year, have staged a plenary session to mark Children's Day of the Rights of the Child.
Students belonging to schools Our Lady of Bethlehem (Murcia), Ramón Gaya (Tocinos Bridge), San Vicente de Paul (El Palmar) and Our Lady of Consolation (Espinardo) have been the protagonists of this event, which has been held since 1997.
Elementary students from four schools in the municipality have returned to star in a full City Council today to discuss and assert their rights.
The event, which has been repeated since 1997, takes place within the events organized by the Department of Education to commemorate the Day of the Rights of Children and Girls.
The mayor and the president has given to students who have taken the floor to discuss their rights, especially on the choice this year, "the right to an adequate standard of living", but also to express their views and ideas on Murcia.
Participants were students of CEIP Nuestra Señora de Belén (Murcia), CEIP Ramon Gaya (Bacons Bridge), San Vicente de Paul (El Palmar) and Our Lady of Consolation (Espinardo).
Four speakers-one for each center have served as president of the hall and have taken care to read the declaration on the rights recognized by the UN to have prepared in their classes, each focusing on some aspect:
CEIP Nuestra Señora de Belén (Murcia) - "Every child has the right to a standard of living adequate for physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social."
Involved 48 students, with their spokesman, Ismail Ait-Hmitti Jamaica (6 °).
The tutors are Mary Lopez Perez assistants (6 th) and Marina Sanchez Rodriguez (5 th) and Maria Jose Ruiz Heredia directoraa.
CEIP Ramon Gaya (Bacons Bridge) - 26 students have participated.
"States must ensure payment of child support from parents or other persons having financial responsibility for the child."

"
Joaquín González López has acted as spokesman in the House, where he has been also accompanied by their tutors Natividad Mercedes Martinez and Dimas Saura Arraiz and the center's director, Pilar Moreno Goterris.
The celebration of this House child, coordinated by the Department of Education, is part of the set of activities that are part of the Week Memorial Children's Rights and Women, the City of Murcia held for fifteen years.
In 1959, United Nations adopted the "Declaration of the Rights of the Child," which included 10 principles, but only implied a moral obligation, so the November 20, 1989 adopted the "Convention on the Rights of the Child," which compliance is mandatory for all signatory countries, including Spain.
The term "right to an adequate standard of living" came with the Declaration of Human Rights 1948 and its regulation is broken down in Article 27 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
