These universities will be part of the group created by Google for Spain called Forum of Universities in the Cloud (FUN)
More than 400,000 new users are added to the program of Google Apps for Education including more than 11,000 are in the Region of Murcia
Google presented today in Madrid Universities Forum in the Cloud (FUN) at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain.
Thirteen universities and Spanish business schools, including Catholic University of Murcia, is part of this group which aims to create a space in which all universities adhered to share their codes of good practice and ideas as well as helping to keep the contact between them in a fun and simple.
The agreement reached by Fun with Google, will provide students, faculty and staff, a series of customizable tools to work together and students can learn most effectively.
This set of tools including email, word processors, communication tools and private file storage and sharing, setting up a 'virtual desktop' which increases the current space and services e-mail account of the students and will be accessible to both through Internet and mobile devices.
In the case of the Catholic University of Murcia, more than 11,000 users (including teachers, students and administrative staff) start using the educational version of Google Apps.
The UCAM with Google has set up for this course UCAM Apps, a dynamic package of tools that allow community members UCAM multiply their performance at all levels through a proactive working environment coordinated virtual network.
From the Catholic University explains that the implementation of UCAM Apps represents a giant leap of quality, both in the management of internal operating processes, as in the application and development of various systems of teaching, learning and research methodologies , through reciprocal information flow between students, faculty and staff specializing in management tasks.
Technical Director of Computer Services and the project UCAM, Sergio León, stated that UCAM Apps will be an improvement in students' work between groups.

The 400,000 new users of these universities are in addition to over 15 million users already use Google Apps for Education worldwide.
Google Apps tools to be implemented will enable universities and business schools to work in a 100% web or what come to be known cloud computing.
Spain is the only country in Europe where 19% of universities are in the Google cloud.
The presentation was attended by the Secretary General of Innovation, Juan Tomás Hernani Burzaco, Juan Junquera Earlier, Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Society, representatives of the 13 educational institutions and William Florance, director of Google Apps for Education EMEA.
