"The new social contract between the library and citizens: survival and reinvention" is the title of the round table discussion organized by the Hall of the University of Murcia for Tuesday November 15.
The activity was held in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Communication and Information.
The makers of the debate trying to respond to a question: Once everything is in the network: what must become of libraries?.
Given the large databases, e-books, repositories, Google ... is to discuss how libraries need to evolve as a service to the public to remain useful to society and culture.
The event will intervene Fernando Cabinet (former Director General of Culture and Libraries and Archives of the Autonomous Region of Murcia and former Deputy Director General for Library Coordination of the Ministry of Culture), Lourdes Gomez Cobacho (Library of the University of Murcia), Isabel Espinal (Library of the University of Massachusetts), Susana Torres Mora (City Library Lorca) and Alberto Soler Soto (Cultural Manager City of Cartagena).
