The University of Murcia has won a total of twelve national awards for excellence in academic achievement for the 2008-2009 academic year, awards convened by the Ministry of Education to recognize students who have completed more college brilliance.

The rector, José Antonio Cobacho, today presided over the building of Convalescence the act by which the educational institution has honored student winners.

Among the winners is Bernadet Kühne Bermejo, a student who won the National Award for Master studies.

With the second prizes have been recognized Maria Piedad Fernández Pérez (Biology), Pascual del Rosario Agulló Riquelme (Science and Food Technology), Ascension Guillen Martinez (Nursing), Bernardino Romera Paredes (IT), María González García (Education) and Maria del Carmen Ortega Morales (Labour Relations).

As third prizes have been awarded Consuelo Miñarro Canovas (Journalism) and Lydia de Haro Hernandez (French Studies) with honors have been awarded Pablo Cortés Suárez (Biochemistry), Germain Manuel Lozano Teruel (Right) and Eveline Eichler (Veterinary).

José Antonio Cobacho and Vice President for Students and Employment, Maribel Sanchez-Mora, congratulated the winners, who wished luck in his professional and personal lives, and their teachers, who were represented in the act of homage by the deans of the centers who studied the students.
