Mayor involved in this initiative promoted by the Department of Commerce to promote the squares of supplies to students in employment workshops as protagonists
The City of Murcia, through the Department of Employment, Trade and Enterprise, has launched a new initiative to promote the local food market and at the same time promote student participation in employment programs.
In this case, the proposal is an invitation to the municipal market users a tasting menu prepared by members of the Restoration Program with products from the food market.
The aim is to promote the business of municipal markets and help boost local trade.
The Mayor, accompanied by the area councilor, José María Tortosa, supported the initiative with his presence this morning in the Plaza de Saavedra Fajardo, venue chosen to launch this campaign, to be followed by other municipal markets.
The tasting menu offered to customers in the market by the students consisted of:

Training for unemployed people over 25 years
The protagonists of the initiative are the eight students taught cooking show in the VI Cofrisol employment workshop, aimed at employability pathways for unemployed people aged 25 or more years.
The student-workers who complete the cooking program will have obtained the training and professional practice related to various professional certificates, namely:
- CP Kitchen.
Through which will acquire the skills to develop the processes of pre-preparation, preparation, presentation and preservation of all kinds of food, and define culinary offerings, using the corresponding autonomy, getting the quality and economic objectives and in compliance with established standards and practices safety and hygiene in food handling.
- CP Basic Operations Catering.
This will allow them the skills needed for mounting of genres packed culinary preparations, kitchenware, tools and various materials, equipment for catering, receive cargo from the catering service
- Obtaining Food Handling Card.
One of the cooking workshop activities is the development of 40 daily menus for residents in the Foundation Board of Trustees of Jesus Forsaken.
Besides cooking, other employment workshop offers four specializations: geriatric care, conditioning, installation of renewable energy equipment and microcomputer systems technician.
The total number of students is 40, distributed at the rate of eight per workshop.

Promoted by the Municipality of Murcia and co-financed also by the Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia through the European Social Fund, the module was launched in December 2010 and will end on 21 December.
