The City installs two recharging points for electric motorcycles and bicycles in its policy of sustainable mobility (27/09/2011)

Murcia has the first two smart-charging public for two-wheeled electric vehicles that have been permanently installed in the reserved parking for motorcycles Paseo Alfonso X El Sabio.

The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and the Environment Councillor, Adela Martinez-Cacho, inaugurated this morning the system put in place that allows simultaneous charging of two motorcycles and two electric bikes for free for a maximum of 3 hours.

Electric mobility of two-wheeled vehicles is the most widespread today, which is why the City of Murcia has proposed that the first charging points are for motorcycles and bicycles because they are now have a greater number of units and models on the market.

In addition, the current technical development of these vehicles, as well as its competitive price make them ideal for urban mobility, can replace or even improve in all his faculties to traditional vehicles with petrol engines.

The two charging points are easily distinguishable by the users of electric vehicles because the parking spaces reserved for these are green and will be marked vertically with a totem-pole sign recognizable.

We have also installed two forked bicycle parking for users of electric bikes can tie them with security lock, thereby strengthening its security in the parking lot.

The electric vehicle responds to virtually all current mobility needs because, besides not emit CO2, has an easy to maintain, as having no combustion engine requires no oil changes or filters, for example.

Reloading is very economical, at a cost of around 2 euros for every 100 or 150 miles.

Among its environmental advantages also highlights its ability to reduce noise pollution to be very quiet and directly influence the improvement of air quality in cities.

Spanish Technology

A Spanish company has provided the technology for managing the smart grid charging, which allows communication between the vehicle and the station, thus obtaining a more efficient and safe loading.

The system is very simple and it works by releasing subscriber cards plug into a reader to validate them.

These cards must apply to the City of Murcia, through ALEM, the Local Agency for Energy and Climate Change, located in the Paper Azarbe 22 (phone and mail alem@ayto-murcia.es 200 293 968).

A citizen who wishes to become a user of the system to recharge electric bicycles and scooters can learn on the web www.energiamurcia.eu.

The refill is free for the first 3 hours.

After this time, for now you can not charge more for that day.

However, the City Council is currently in the process of becoming energy manager, which will sell power to customers who wish to prolong the recharge over time.

Green is the color of electric mobility in Murcia

Murcia is the head of municipalities of Spain with the most number of electric and hybrid vehicles and municipal use one of the most heavily bet on electric mobility.

On the other hand, policies promoting measures that help to make a municipality Murcia increasingly sustainable include, among other things, the tax area.

In this regard, since 2008 there are "green credits" to lower to 30% share of hybrid vehicles (electric, gas, electric, diesel or electric-gas) and electric motors that reduce emissions up to 120 CO2 g / km.

This 30% bonus applies and the year of enrollment in the next two years.

To be eligible for such aid is necessary to request the citizens who have bought the vehicle this year to become effective in the coming year.

Also, with the aim of promoting sustainability and Environmental Protection, the City of Murcia electric vehicles acquired 9 Murcia Comarth manufacturer that will save a total of 4,800 kilograms of CO2 per car per year.

In addition, its operation is a fuel savings of 1,800 liters of diesel per vehicle per year.

A total of 16,200 liters will consume between nine diesel vehicles, which means a saving of 20,250 euros per year.

In addition, hybrid vehicles gained 5 (dual-fuel electric motor) that the expected savings amount to a total of 3,360 kg of CO2 per year per vehicle.

In total, save 20,160 kg of CO2 per year.

Similarly, it will consume a total of 8520 liters of gasoline.

Thus, these vehicles consume about 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers, producing only 89 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

This is possible because, while the boot is zero consumption of gasoline since it is handled with the electrical system, in normal driving simultaneously both engines and the throttle is used both.

Furthermore, the slowdown is used for energy recovery and recharging the battery.

The electric vehicle aims to become the main alternative sustainable urban mobility to the challenges posed by climate change and scarcity of fossil fuels.

Today, the traditional transportation accounts for 28% of global energy consumption and 34% of CO2 emissions, hence the importance of fostering global solutions that reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
