Councillor for Employment, Trade and Enterprise has met this morning with representatives of the Observatory of Local Development and Employment
In order to further promote and boost the economy of the municipality of Murcia, in order to carry out collaborative mechanisms that contribute to this end, Councillor for Employment, Trade and Enterprise of the Municipality of Murcia, José María Tortosa, has maintained a meeting this morning with representatives of the Observatory of Local Development and Employment, University of Murcia.
The collaboration between the two institutions will mainly focus on the following activities:
- Preparation of reports and studies on the socioeconomic situation of the municipality and the development of the productive and local labor market.
- Perform analysis and identification of potential development in the city and in different districts, with special attention to the identification of niche business and employment sites.
- Build tools to support entrepreneurs and small businesses, especially facilitating the implementation of new technologies.
- To deepen the knowledge of the city's commercial expertise and the viability and future of the commercial fabric of the municipality.
- Revitalization and revival of traditional trade.
Promotion and development of retail.
- Development of dynamic activities to enable students in their final years of the University and master's officers to implement its business plan.
- Developing a Strategic Plan for employment, competitiveness and economic promotion aimed at grouping all plans, programs and actions directly or indirectly related to the economic and employment in Murcia on three main areas: Employment, Training Business and Commerce.
- Providing a framework for work experience job placement.
- Creating GIS as a tool for developing business plans, feasibility trade-oriented.
- Creating an employment and training abroad for university students.
Note that all these actions fall within the remit of the employment and economic promotion, an instrument that brings knowledge and data relevant to those involved in active policies to promote employment, local development and promotion economic activity (policy makers, technicians, trade unions, employers, citizens), for decision-making criteria of effectiveness.
Its basic functions are:
- Collect any information on the socioeconomic reality of the municipality.
- To support strategic decisions in the definition and evaluation of public policies of the municipality in the areas of employment, business and trade
- Perform territorial exploration that can serve as a reference to the model desired future for the municipality.
- Perform and provide diagnosis on economic and market studies.
- Develop and disseminate reports
- Share all this with agents acting on the territory
It is undoubtedly to observe in order to act effectively in such a sensitive issue and important for a municipality, such as economic development and employment.
