The councilman of Social Welfare and Health, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, this morning visited the summer school which takes place in July in the Program of Support to Training and Promotion of People with social problems, ending next 29, the day on which activities with some children and their families.
Is an activity which adds to the sons and daughters of mothers who are incorporated throughout the year to the Training Program.
Thus during the month of July, the participants can continue their training process and receive a scholarship under this section (essential for the family economy), sharing with their children developing play and recreational activities and maintaining family responsibilities and .
Moreover, this activity provides a vacation alternative, both mothers and children (living, scheduled departures, school enrichment activities, workshops, crafts, excursions, support and self-help skills rehearsal space and strengthening of knowledge throughout the course).
This year we are taking a total of 68 people.
Of these, 30 are women who are part of the training program that develops during the course, the rest are children of different ages from two months of age through adolescence.
The Summer School takes place at the Center for Infant and Primary Education "Infante D. Juan Manuel de Murcia".
This activity also gives effect to the measures contained in the Plan for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men in 2011.
The Summer School is organized into three groups, depending on the age of minors and / adult participants.
Programming Summer School involves, as usual in this type of activities and due to high temperatures, visit and enjoy two days a week of swimming pools (Tuesday and Thursday), is also scheduled a trip to the beach (the 27th of July).
It has made a visit to the Museum of Science, where both boys and girls (aged 8 years) and adults were able to visit the Planetarium, the Temporary Exhibition Hall and the Hall of Water.
Also this year, children from 7 years have been able to visit the Children's Traffic Park.
It is noteworthy that, agreeing with the "International Year of Forests" has conducted a tree planting (available in pots) and the little ones were built a few small greenhouses where plantations have been able to fast-growing seeds, so they can go to observe the evolution of what they themselves have sown.
On the other hand, last July 20 the participants were able to enjoy healthy and enjoy a good breakfast, as was done-Healthy Breakfast Workshop, in coordination with the technicians of the Health Service.
This activity aims to educate adults and children the importance of proper and healthy breakfast, considering this as the most important meal of the day.
Trying to highlight the importance of restoring and improving the habit of having breakfast in adults, and inaugurating the best interest of the children.
This is promoting a typical Mediterranean breakfast and the consumption of fresh fruits.
The activity consists of an educational workshop about breakfast and later into the dining room to implement what they learned.
The mothers participated in the logistics and dynamics of activity in the kitchen preparing and serving and serving the dining room.
The result of the activity has been excellent.
During the days of the Summer School are developing different craft and sewing workshops (bread bags, pareos, fans.)
Particularly noteworthy is the participation and positive attitude that are making the participants in the development and involvement of different activities that make summer school, from different points of Murcia town and villages.
Although some of them have to take two buses to get to school, it is satisfying to see how they enjoy the activities and the relationship between participants.
Also of note this year, three of the students of the Training Program, are performing some support in the summer school is taking place in the CEIP San Juan, here put into practice many of the jobs during the course content and support educators and monitors the development of activities.
