Murcia IU-Greens tabled a motion in Parliament next Thursday, July 21, so the council established a bonus of 90 percent of the whole amount of Property Tax (IBI) for the unemployed, pensioners and the disabled.
The bill proposes that this deduction is applied according to the same criteria in the ordinance governing the property tax credits for large families, and places such as pensioners and disabled beneficiaries not exceeding 1.2 on the minimum wage and the unemployed .
It also proposes reducing the tax rate on municipal budgets for 2012 in order to avoid increasing the total amount of the tax.
Such measures are held at City Hall as Malaga or Almeria.
It also calls for non-payment of IBI application to those whose homes are subject to eviction
Councilman IU-Greens in the city of Murcia José Ignacio Tornel has emphasized the need to implement these measures to the "difficult" economic situation of many families in the municipality as a result of the crisis.
Tornel has also criticized the attitude of the mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, to announce an aid of 125 euros in the IBI in October 2009 and not correct after checking that the municipal law prevents the application of this aid.
