The University of Murcia today announced the winner of the Prix Denise Garcia of Poetry of the institution, which has fallen on its eleventh edition José Luna Borge, Seville.
The award is endowed by the Foundation Cajamurcia 6,000 euros and the winning work, "Boulder" will be published by the University of Murcia in our collection of Poetry Classroom.
The poems of Luna Borge was selected among 208 specimens from all regions, with the Region of Murcia, Andalusia and Valencia at the top, and seventeen European and American countries, mainly from Argentina, Cuba and Mexico.
The poet Denise Garcia and president of the jury, Professor of Literature at the University of Murcia Javier Díez de Revenga, took part in the ceremony to paraphrase the virtues of winning.
During the ceremony, which she chaired in Convalescence the rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho, was presented the book won the previous edition: "The cliques of Eros," Soledad Zurera.
The Chancellor spoke of strengthening the cultural field of the University and to fulfill one of the essential missions of the universities, as is the dissemination of culture.
Also participating were the rector of University Extension and eGovernment, Mercedes Farias, and the manager of the Foundation Cajamurcia, Pascual Martinez.
