National Police have dismantled a criminal group engaged in the commission of robbery with intimidation by the process known as "cogotazo."
The police have arrested three members of this band, among them is the "Sabonis" a known criminal who in 1996 murdered a policeman in Madrid.
So far, nine are charged with crimes in the city of Murcia in the last year.
The method of "cogotazo" is to find someone who has withdrawn cash from a bank and approached on the street as a surprise and violent, to seize the money that carries them.
The criminal groups engaged in such actions tend to select their victims among the elderly, so the defense could offer the same to the actions of the attackers is minimal and negligible risk that the same factor can be assumed in relation the physical integrity of the victims.
