Students in Initial Vocational Training Program of the City of Murcia today celebrating his graduation with the presentation of diplomas for completing their studies.
These are young people between 16 and 20, who abandoned their studies and have taken over the 2010/2011 academic year through a training program of the Department of Employment, led by José María Tortosa.
Students receive their diplomas today began the course in October and have specialized in:
-Electrical and Communications Facilities
-Welding and metal construction, 2 groups
-Kitchen
-Barber
- Aesthetics
- Hardware
- Plumbing-Air Conditioning, 2 groups
- Vehicle Maintenance, 2 groups
This year 154 students were enrolled in the program who have completed the 126 (81.82%).
109 students (86.5%) has decided to continue his studies, attending 2 of Professional Qualification in Secondary Education Center or a Center for Adult Education, for the ESO.
Classes are held at the Center for Training and Employment of FICA.
The success of this program is to create a real working environment, with rules, schedules and security measures shall be treated as a workplace.
The program provides training, practices, personal protective equipment and clothing to all alumni / ae as well as travel grants to students / as need.
It also includes a training module in workplaces of 150 hours, for which were signed in the month of June 66 cooperation agreements with companies in the municipality, so that students have had their first experience in a real context work.
The investment in this initiative this year has been 600,000 euros, of which the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment has provided 476,296 euros and the city of Murcia, the rest.
The Initial Professional Qualification Program (IPPP) is a training alternative for students who have not completed secondary education (ESO).
The goal of these programs is to enable students to achieve skills.
Murcia City Council Workshop teaches Professional mode, giving preference to young people most in need of job placement, youth at risk of social exclusion and difficulties in finding work derived from failure at school.
Murcia City Council offers these training programs since 1992, and were given 155 to 2,200 profiles forming students.
