A doctoral dissertation at the University of Murcia has concluded that modern society uses advertising as a tool to perpetuate the prevailing consumerist socioeconomic structure.
Its author, Javier Garcia Lopez, who has obtained excellent cum laude for his work drawn from his analysis that the narrative ad "shows the benefits of capitalism and consumerism, but it seems to hide certain existing effective social distancing" in the former.
Advertising, he says, remains "the pillars of the architecture of the consumption of dreams set the behavior of today's societies," so that "marks the paths to the audience so they can eliminate their pain or distracting social at least not imaginary or simulated. "
The thesis was directed by Professor of the University of Murcia Pedro Ortuño Hellin and professor at the University of Sevilla Fernando Contreras Medina.
