Councilman IU-Greens in Murcia José Ignacio Tornel the council asked the commission created to study issues related to social and economic development of the municipality analyze the performance of the bicycle master plan.
In a statement, Tornel explained that this plan was initially approved in March 2010, after which opened a period of claims that have not yet been resolved, which emphasizes that approval is "not final".
He indicated that "after a year's time to integrate into the plan and discuss proposals for improving its operation to the limitations that left and have not stopped running his actions."
In his view, need to be addressed "basics" of the plan based on the number of users increase, its impact on traffic calming and the impact of bicycle rental program.
It also has advanced his training will use the said commission to the "absence" of assessment instruments based on criteria which take into account public participation and external indicators such as analysis or statistics.
On the latter, said that "to be seen whether they can be used in the same, ensuring a realistic assessment of municipal projects that exceed the usual, limited to advertising and propaganda of the PP."
