The solar car prototype of the UCAM, San Antonio, first in Spain and finished fifth in Europe, Category Photovoltaic Solar prestigious motorsport racing development, Shell Eco Marathon, held recently in the circuit EuroSpeedway Lausitz (Germany).
The Director of Engineering Degree in Telecommunications Systems of San Antonio Catholic University, Rafael Melendreras, welcomed the victory of the team competition of the UCAM, San Antonio Racing Team, which received nominations for the paths to the best spirit special equipment and the best Marketing and Communications Plan and highlighted the commitment of the institution with the development of clean energy.
Melendreras Rafael explained that the Shell Eco-Marathon started as an international initiative to boost research and design projects by student teams from colleges and universities around the world dedicated to designing, building and testing of efficient vehicles for energy efficient, able to go as far as the lowest energy consumption, and called it "wonderful experience" the participation of the team competition of the UCAM, San Antonio Racing Team, both technical and human, in this prestigious international competition of environmentally friendly cars.
"We had the opportunity to interact with faculty and graduate students and VET in 25 countries, including from Morocco and Qatar and now back full of ideas that apply in the development of the prototype, go ahead, it will be advanced from the technological point of view. This event is an excellent opportunity for participation and future leaders involved in finding sustainable solutions to global energy problem, "said Melendreras.
