The Department of Art History at the University of Murcia has offered to assist in the recovery of historical and artistic heritage of Lorca that has been affected by the earthquake of May 11.
The University Department has shown the need to convene the Joint Commission provided in the Law on Cultural Heritage in the Region of Murcia "as a basic instrument of coordination between different administrations, institutions and agents involved in it.
It also states that "informed by the Director of Fine Arts in the implementation of a strategic plan for Lorca, consider this useful initiative for the future and the progress of the city, incorporating the built heritage to urban development of the same"
In this regard, adding that "this Department has a number of studies and ongoing research projects on such property that may be an essential source material for the preparation of that plan."
This body provides university "to act as an active element in counseling and operation of the Joint Commission"
